Becoming a Member
Welcome to MUUS and to Unitarian Universalism! This class page has everything you need to prepare for our new member class.Unitarian Universalism is known as a free faith and a chosen faith. The first step on the membership journey is visiting us, attending Sunday services and other events for a few months. We count you as part of the community while you’re getting to know us. A couple of times each year, The Membership Committee and/or the Minister will contact people who have been visiting recently to ask if they are interested in becoming members of the congregation. If you feel that formal membership is right for you, but haven’t yet been asked, please feel free to speak to the Minister or The Membership Committee and let them know. We hold a membership class as necessary, usually once or twice a year. After attending that class you can make financial pledge and sign the membership book. We celebrate new members in a Sunday services following the membership classes.
Below you’ll find resources that might help you understand Unitarian Universalism and our congregation better. These are here for your reference and interest and cover all the basics of UU History, UU Theology/Philosophy, UU Rituals and Ceremonies, and how our congregation and the UUA operate.
